life is beautiful.
"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." - 2 Corinthians 4:18

3,910 notes "But it’s hard to stay mad when there’s so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once and it’s too much. My heart fills up like a balloon that’s about to burst. And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can’t feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life." — Lester Burnham, American Beauty

Films to put on the List:

  • Paths of Glory (Stanley Kubrick, 1957) - we watched some of this in class today and i reckon if I wasnt so tired from work I would have really loved it
  • Lawrence of Arabia (David Lean, 1962) - because its a classic, and the reason why Spielberg wanted to get into filmmaking
  • 2001: Space Odyssey (Stanley Kubrick, 1968) - because one of my lecturers always uses it as an example and i’d like to know what he’s talking about
  • The Passion of the Christ (Mel Gibson, 2004) - because Jesus is amazing
  • Sweet November (Pat O’Connor, 2001) - someone from my work assures me its great. But then again he loves the Notebook and Letters from Juliet so I probably won’t make this one a high priority.

I’ll post a review for Masculin Feminin soon. :)

Notes

Today in film history class we watched Charlie Chaplin’s 1921 silent film, ‘The Kid’. You MUST watch it. It was so so so so so good.   This is going on my list of favourite films.

‘A picture with a smile - and perhaps, a tear.’

I’ll even give you a youtube link so you don’t have to go searching for it.  Just watch it. You’re all procrastinating anyway, you might as well. :P

i’ve probably forgotten some really good ones, but there’s a start.

Notes
I guess I should write these reviews before I forget.

Wayne’s World, directed by Penelope Spheeris, starring Mike Myers and Dana Carvey (1992)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, directed by David Yates, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint (2011)

Warning: spoilers alert for Harry Potter. But seriously if you don’t know how it ends then you need to get out more [ie go to the bookstore so you can buy Harry Potter and read it]
